See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
The Dunster Castle Hotel lies at the foot of the medieval, cobbled High Street and Dunster Castle with the medieval Yarn Market at the top of the road. The building itself dates back to about 1750 and was once the home of the Luttrell family and various managers who worked on the estate. You can walk directly from the Hotel to Dunster Castle and the Gardens, the ancient Dunster Water Mill and Gallox Bridge. Although a hotel and restaurant there is a small comfortable bar at the back of the restaurant on the ground floor - frequented by locals and visitors. There is an outside drinking area. Beer is dispensed from plastic barrels behind the bar and further reports on quality are welcomed.
