- Important Branch Meeting Saturday 23 November 2024
Saturday 23 November 2024 12:00
Winchester Arms
There will be a Branch Meeting on Saturday November 23rd. It’s the skittle alley at the Winchester Arms on Church Road in Trull, TA3 7LG, just south of Taunton. There will be a Committee meeting at 12:00 noon and main Branch meeting at 12:30 hrs. It’s private and the beer is good. The downside is that there’s no heating so wear your thick coats! But beggars can’t be choosers…. Also a great incentive to keep the meeting brief!
If you want to eat the food is good too.
The meeting requires 2026 Good Beer Guide nominations OR deletions proposals from as many members as possible. They need not necessarily attend the meeting so long as they email one of us of their proposal(s). See https://www.somerset.camra.org.uk/contacts.
We also need as many members as possible to attend as the final list we review will then require each pub/club be 'surveyed' so as much help as possible for this please. We have to get all surveys completed and back to David Dean by February 2025 meeting to select final 53 entrants for 2026 GBG!

Open to all members - and free to attend!
Taking place at the Riviera Centre in Torquay from 11-13 April, Members' Weekend, AGM & Conference is a chance for members from across the UK to socialise in the on-site Members' Bar, take part in discussions and activities and experience the local beer (and cider) scene. You can check the sample schedule on the site to help you plan your travel and accommodation.
In addition to the formal AGM and Conference, there will be organised trips, activities, talks and tastings over the weekend. By registering to attend Members' Weekend, you'll receive an email by late January, with details on what's happening and how to book your place/s. Register to attend here: https://camra.org.uk/members-weekend.
All registered attendees will receive key information about where to register on site, and reminders about activities via email at the beginning of April.
You can also register in person over the weekend and come for a drink in the Members' Bar. The area has several pubs featured in the Good Beer Guide 2025, and local volunteers will have recommendations for pubs and brewery bars to visit over the weekend.
Come and join Team Torquay - Applications being taken now!
Volunteers are also needed to help in all areas over the weekend - including set up, behind the scenes, behind the bar, counting votes and general assistance.
Sign up to volunteer here: https://camra.org.uk/members-weekend/volunteer.
We look forward to welcoming you to Torquay next April.
