This classic village inn is the centre for many local events including the famous annual turnip prize and international spoof. The public bar, lounge and dining areas are complemented by a beer garden to the rear. A chalkboard lists forthcoming ales, mainly from the west country, all served from three handpumps or gravity. Traditional, good-value home cooked food is served. There is a skittle alley/function room and winter skittles and darts provide a hive of activity.
