Pub named after William Dampier who was born in nearby East Coker and who was the first Englishman to explore parts of what is today Australia, and the first person to circumnavigate the world three times. As you enter there is a bar on the left usually with a range of six cask ales and being a Wetherspoon the ales turn over quickly.
